Trevor Crowley's accident at work claim

Trevor Crowley was operating a grinding machine at a workshop in Birmingham where he was employed at the time of his accident.

Due to a fault with the machine, the job that he was grinding was ejected suddenly. The machine was inadequately guarded, as a result of which the job struck the client on the forehead, causing a laceration.

He then instructed this firm to make a personal injury claim on his behalf. A letter was sent to the employers, advising that the client wished to make a workplace accident claim.

The defendants conceded liability at an early stage and initially alleged that that the client was partly to blame for his accident. However as the compensation claim proceeded, the defendants chose not to pursue any allegation of contributory negligence.

A medical report was obtained and eventually the claim reached a successful out-of-court settlement.
