• BA Degree in Development Studies at UEA

• MA in Politics at Exeter University

• Journalist/sub-editor at Al-Awda, Palestine Press Services, East Jerusalem

• CPE and Law Society Finals at Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic (now Northumbria University)

• Admitted as a solicitor November 1993

• Articled at Lamport Bassitt, subsequently practised exclusively claimant personal injury litigation at Thompsons (1994-97) and Irwin Mitchell (1997-2000) (team leader at IM Birmingham)

• Started own specialist claimant personal injury practice in July 2000

• Past Vice-Chairman of Birmingham Sole Practitioners Group and manager of Birmingham SPG website

• Voted Sole Practitioner of the Year at the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards at the ICC in March 2003

• Practice was awarded Lexcel, the Law Society's quality mark in September 2004

• Elected to Hampshire Incorporated Law Society Committee in December 2005
